 Big Props are in order to Bryan 'Baby' Williams and Ronald 'Slim' Williams. These are the two brothers who founded New Orleans based Cash Money Records in 1991. The groups on this label which include Juvenile, BG, Lil Wayne, Hot Boys, Big Tymers and producer Manny Fresh, are known for clocking a lot of dough. It's no secret that the label is tremendously successful as it generates millions of dollars every couple of weeks. As of late Baby and Slim have given new meaning to giving back the community and the phrase they've coined 'bling bling'. The pair who grew up in New Orleans' Magnolia Projects have decided to purchase the complex with the intent of allowing residents to live there rent free. Thus far half the units have been purchased, the City of New Orleans have yet to sell them the other half. Why the hold up, one can only suspect, but it has nothing to do with Baby and Slim being unwilling. The city has been holding up the sale. Slim and Bay have garnered a reputation for spreading their wealth around with the people from their 'hood'. While this is going on, Master P who is new Orleans' other power house is following suit and looking to snatch up the deeds to his old housing project. My guess he has a similar intent as Baby and Slim. Props to them both for giving back... |
